Cheltenham Festival 2011 – Day 4 ‘The Numbers’

It was out with the ‘Old Guard’ and in with the new as Long Run backed up his King George victory by landing the Gold Cup in emphatic style, earning a 4/1 quote from Ladbrokes that he’ll win the race three times.

Bob’s Worth was a heavily backed winner in the Albert Bartlett novices hurdle and looks sure to have a big career ahead of him. But the most exciting finish saw Ruby Walsh out muscle is rival and great friend AP McCoy in the Vincent O’Brien county Hurdle, when Final Approach beat Get Me Out Of Here on the bob of a head, Ruby’s charge was matched at 230 for small money in-running.

Pricewise: (Tom Segal) drew a blank on day 4 with his win bets, but two of them were placed and took his profits in the place markets at the Betfair SP to +24.36 points for the week and over 40 points in the win market so a very good week.

Pro Trader Tip plan to keep a record of how Pricewise performs at Royal Ascot this year for future reference.

Cheltenham Festival 2011 – Day 3 ‘The Numbers’

Big Bucks took the World Hurdle again, in a day of repeats with both Buena Vista and Albertas Run both winning again like they did 12 months previously.

Junior was one of the most impressive winners of the day and looks certain to be heading for the Grand National and based on how he stayed could be a live contender in 3 weeks.

Other Notes from Day 3

Pricewise: (Tom Segal) just had one winner on the account today, Junior in the Kim Muir and broken even for the day as a result with his ante-post and daily bets, but still remains +48 points up for the week.

He did fair better in the place market adding 5 placed horses out of the 7 that ran on the day and in the 24 horses that he has advised a staggering 12 have been placed and you would be in profit +18.36.

Cheltenham Festival 2011 – Day 2 ‘The Numbers’

It was another thrilling day at the Festival with last year’s Arkle winner Sizing Europe coming of age to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase. It was a day the Irish gave up the bumper in exchange for all the other 6 races on the card and its not even St Patrick’s Day!

The most exciting finish was in the Neptune Investments Novice Hurdle when First Lieutenant touched off Rock On Ruby, (who traded as short as 1.05 in-running)

7 of his horses have been placed and if you had backed them at place SP on Betfair you would be showing a healthy +10.31 points profit over the two days.

Cheltenham Festival 2011 – Day 1 ‘The Numbers’

The Supreme Novices Hurdle produced the most dramatic finish on day 1 of the 2011 Cheltenham Festival with three horses trading in-running below 1.35, but it was Al Ferof who gave Paul Nicholls & Ruby Walsh the perfect start to the week.
